Marie-Jo Guisset Martinez

Having initially studied philosophy and social work Marie-Jo GUISSET MARTINEZ, worked at the Regional administration of health and care in Lyon. She then managed the Senior Citizens programme of Fondation de France campaigning for a new vision of older people. During the last 14 years in Fondation Médéric Alzheimer she developed new actions and methods about innovative issues to promote, support and evaluate local and national projects for and with people with dementia and their family carers. Marie-Jo has been involved in several European groups and networks: Salmon Group, TTS, PROCARE…). She is currently active member of the North Sea Dementia Group, and EFID ((European Foundation Initiative on Dementia). She is requested as adviser at a national and European level. Her work interests within the area of dementia are: Ethics applied to practice, making people’s voice heard, social inclusion, care at home, small living units, environment, technology and social life, night time, end of life. She is passionate about enhancing best practice on dementia care and highlighting the meaningful actions undertaken by professionals.
