Grainne McGettrick (Ireland)

Spanning over two decades, Grainne has been spent her career working in field of disability and in dementia in particular.  She worked in a variety of advocacy and campaigning organisations in the community and voluntary sector.  Grainne has lead out on research and policy advocacy projects in the sector and has significant experience of working on rights-based agendas and community development for marginalised and disadvantaged people. She worked for more than ten years as the Policy and Research Manager with The Alzheimer Society of Ireland.  In May of this year she moved to work with Acquired Brain Injury Ireland, where she is responsible for managing the research and policy advocacy functions.  She holds a Bachelor of Social Science from University College Dublin and a Masters in Social Policy from NUI Maynooth.
