Angiolina Foster

United Kingdom

Angiolina Foster CBE began her career in local government, where she gained extensive operational management experience in Scotland’s two largest local authorities – Glasgow and Edinburgh.  In her work with these unitary authorities, she gained a strong reputation for driving-up service quality and maximising value for citizens.  Over this period, she developed a keen personal interest in customer-led performance improvement.

Angiolina joined the civil service in 2001 as Director of Regulation and Inspection for the Social Housing sector in Scotland.  From 2003 to 2007 she was Chief Executive of Scotland’s Housing and Regeneration Agency, Communities Scotland.  On route to this role, she led the largest community ownership project of its kind in Western Europe by delivering the Glasgow Housing Stock Transfer in March 2003.  From 2007 to 2011 Angiolina held the post of Director of Strategy and Cabinet with the Scottish Government, a role that sits at the heart of the devolved administration.

Angiolina was made a Commander of the British Empire in 2011 and in early 2012  became the Scottish Government’s Director of Health and Social Care Integration.

In her free time, Angiolina loves walking and hill climbing and generally relishing Scotland’s stunning landscape.
