Liisa Jaakonssari is a member of the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament.
She is Vice-Chairwoman of the Special Committee on the Financial, Economic and Social Crisis. She is a member of the Employment and Social Affairs Committee and a substitute on the Committee on Foreign Affairs.
Ms Jaakonssari joined the European Alzheimer's Alliance and signed the Paris Declaration in 2009.
