Economic downturn delays the launch of the English national dementia strategy

Prof. Sube Banerjee, who was charged with developing the English national dementia strategy, stated that the current economic downturn is further delaying the launch of the national strategy. Originally scheduled to be launched in October 2008, Andrew Chidgey, head of policy and campaigns at the Alzheimers Society, explained that there is now much morescrutiny for departments on new announcements and projects arent necessarily getting through as quickly given the work thats going on to deal with the financial crisis.
