EU Health Conference summary is published on-line

A summary of the speeches given at the EU high Level Conference held in June which led to the European pact “Together for Mental Health and Well-being”, is now available on line.

The summary includes the comments from Mr Didier Houssin, Director General, Ministry of Health, France, who highlighted the priority that dementia has under the French presidency and highlighted the usefulness of the European Pact in that it can “bring together researchers, social care and health professionals and stimulate the exchange of good practice, and failures, between member States.”

Jointly closing the conference, the Slovenian Minister of Health, Ms Sofia Mazej-Kukovič reminded delegates that “this pact is not an obligation, but a commitment” and Ms Androulla Vassilliou, the European Commissioner for Health called the Pact “the beginning of a new chapter in health policy”
