European Commission adopts decision to provide an operating grant to the activities of Alzheimer Europe in 2010

Alzheimer Europe was informed by the Executive Agency for Health and Consumers that the European Commission had aopted a decision on the projects to be financed under the 2009 call for proposals under the second programme of Community action in the field of health (2008-2013) and that the application of Alzheimer Europe has been evaluated positively and that an operating grant of EUR 250,000 would be awarded to Alzheimer Europe for its activities in 2010 pending a successful negotiation of the contract.

The support of the European Commission would cover the core activities of the organisation, including the continuation of the European Dementia Ethics Network, the 2010 Alzheimer Europe Conference in Luxembourg and the Alzheimer Europe projects on guardianship systems and the involvement of people with dementia.

Other organisations selected for operating grants are BKK Nundesverband GbR, the European Health Management Association, the European Organisatzion for Rare Diseases, the European Public Health Alliance, Nationaal Instituut vor Gezondheidsbevordering en Ziektepreventie and Stichting Aids Fonds – Soa Aids Nederland.
