The motto of the Spanish European Presidency was 'Innovating Europe'. The Presidency promised to continue the work of the previous holders (Sweden) and had three conferences: Conference on Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion, Madrid (January 2010), e-Health Conference (March 2010) and Conference on Ageing (March 2010).
