Van Nistelrooij Lambert is a Member of the European Parliament and a Member of the Bureau from the Group of the European People's Party (Christian Democrats).
He currently is a Member of the Committee on Regional Development and a Substitute on the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy.
In his contributions to Alzheimer Europe's campaign to make dementia a European priority he :
- joined the European Alzheimer's Alliance in 2009,
- signed EP Written Declaration on the priorities in the fight against Alzheimer's disease.
