Tadeusz Parnowski is Professor and Head of the 2 ^nd Psychiatric Department at the Institute of Psychiatry and Neurology, Warsaw. He is Treasurer of the Executive Board of the Polish Psychiatric Association and Vice President of the Scientific Board of the Institute of Psychiatry and Neurology. His current research interests include the treatment of late-life psychoses, the psychosocial and biological basis of affective disorders as well as the aetiology and pathomechanisms of dementia. He has held visiting positions in other European countries such as a fellowship in 1985 at the Umea University in Sweden and a post of Consultant Psychiatrist in Malta from 1987 and 1991. Prof. Tadeusz Parnowski has published over 100 articles, 2 books and 17 chapters and is a member of the editorial board of six journals.
