Policy in Practice

Alzheimer Europe has strived to realise its political priorities (which can be found in the Paris Declaration) by carrying out a number of initiatives. We work closely with the European Alzheimer’s Alliance (EAA) whose goal is to make the priorities listed in the Paris Declaration become a reality. Members of the EAA have, amongst other things, hosted various lunch debates on dementia in the European Parliament. We also raise awareness of the issues surrounding dementia by carrying out various European comparative studies. Together with our member organisations, we publish position papers on certain topics (such as anti-dementia drugs, the Hague convention, stem cell research to name but a few). Our Dementia in Europe magazine has also been dedicated to policy on dementia within Europe.
