Comparative studies

Alzheimer Europe has carried out a number of research projects looking into how health care systems take into account the specific needs of people with dementia and their carers.

In particular, the organisation has carried out comparative studies on:

• National legislation in the fields of healthcare and decision making , legal capacity and proxy decision making and restrictions of freedom
• The availability and reimbursement of anti-dementia medicines ,
• The organisation and availability of home care services and
• The social support systems for people with dementia and their carers .
