In December, MEPs Maria da Graça Carvalho (Portugal) joined the European Alzheimer’s Alliance. She is member of the European People's Party (Christian Democrats). Ms Carvalho is a member of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE) and a substitute of the Budgets Committee and the Special Committee on Policy Challenges and Budgetary Resources for a Sustainable European Union after 2013 (SURE). She is also a former Minister of Science, Innovation and Higher Education in Portugal.
