Becker Heinz (Member)

On 13 October 2011, Heinz K. Becker, MEP (EPP, Austria) joined the European Alzheimer’s Alliance. He is the first Austrian MEP to join the Alliance.
Mr. Becker sits on the Employment and Social Affairs Committee and on the Petition Committee. He is a substitute on the Culture and Education Committee.
Since 2001, Mr Becker has been Secretary-General of the Austrian Senior Citizens' Association (ÖSB) and a member of the Executive Committee of the European Senior Citizens' Union (ESCU) since 2005.
In his contributions to Alzheimer Europe's campaign to make dementia a European priority he:
- attended a lunch debate at the European Parliament in February 2012 which presented the Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI) and the PharmaCog project.
