National Dementia Plans
There is no national dementia plan in Austria at present. At the beginning of 2010 a national report on dementia was completed which included contributions from the national Alzheimer association, Alzheimer Angehörige Austria.
On 4 October 2012, Rudolf Hundstorfer, Austria’s Federal Minister of Labour, Social Affairs and Consumer Protection announced that the Austrian government would work toward establishing a national dementia plan within five years. He also said that Alzheimer Austria will have a significant role in developing the plan. This announcement was made during Alzheimer Europe's 22nd annual conference in Vienna.
