Archie grew up in a village just outside Cambuslang, he now lives in the East End of Glasgow. Archie is 61 and was given a diagnosis of Korsakoff’s syndrome around 10 years ago when he had to give up work. Archie trained as an auto electrician and worked for more than 20 years in his father’s haulage business, both as mechanic and heavy goods vehicle driver. He has always had a passion for cars and still spends his spare time “doing up” cars.
Archie is a newer member of the Scottish Dementia Working Group, joining the Committee soon after his first meeting! He has taken part in a working group designing a welcome pack for new members, is active in group discussions and gave his first presentation for the group in June this year. He is looking forward to the challenge of his first international conference in Warsaw.
