Childers Nessa (Member)

Nessa Childers is a Member of the European Parliament from the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats.
She currently is a Member of the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety and a Substitute on the Committee on Culture and Education.
Her contributions to Alzheimer Europe's campaign to make dementia a European priority are as follows:
- attended a lunch debate at the European Parliament in June 2012 which defined Alzheimer’s disease in the new European public health and research programmes
- participated in a lunch debate in the European Parliament in December 2011 which presented the findings of the "Value of Knowing" survey
- hosted a lunch debate in the European Parliament in December 2010 entitled “The Joint Programming of research in Neurodegenerative Diseases (JPND). What progress so far?”
- participated in a lunch debate in the European Parliament in June 2010 called “Alzheimer’s disease and dementia as a national priority: contrasting approaches by France and the UK”.
