Philip Bentley studied law at St. Catharine's College, Cambridge, before becoming a member of the Bar of England and Wales in 1970. He came to Belgium in 1975, where he practices English and European Community law. He was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1991. He is registered with the Dutch-speaking Bar of Brussels and currently practises in the law firm of McDermott, Will & Emery/Stanbrook LLP. He is married to Christine Bausier, and they have four children. Having experienced Alzheimer suffering in his own family in England, Philip joined the Alzheimer Ligue in 2006 where he takes part in discussions on legal and ethical issues.
